Current Periodicals Inaccessible Dec. 16-17

Thursday, December 9th, 2010

The current periodicals shelved on the A level of the Research Library will be inaccessible on Thursday and Friday, December 16-17; flooring in the area is being replaced.  This has been planned for intersession prior to the campus winter holiday closure to affect as few users as possible.

Please plan your library use accordingly.

Computers Added to Study Commons

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

A handful of computers have been added to the bank of public workstations in the study commons on the A level.  Please note that these are for short-term use only (fifteen-minute limit) if other users are waiting, and priority is given to UCLA students, faculty, and staff and to people accessing UCLA Library resources.

UCLA students, faculty, and staff who need a computer for a longer period, need to use instructional software applications, or want to access non-Library resources should check out a laptop; the laptop loan service desk is located in the reference reading room at the west end of the A level.

Microforms Move to A-Level

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Many of the microform materials formerly housed in Microform and Media Service on the second floor have been moved to the new study commons on the A-level.  Frequently used titles are housed in self-service cabinets, adjacent to a reader/printer.  Less frequently used titles have been moved to storage and will be retrieved upon request.

For assistance, ask at the service desk near the central stairwell.
