UCLA Library Closed Dec. 19-Jan. 3

All UCLA Library facilities will be closed from Saturday, December 19, 2009, through Sunday, January 3, 2010, as part of the campuswide Winter Holiday closure.  Many electronic resources, including online journals and the UCLA Library Catalog, will be accessible throughout the closure, but reference assistance will not be available during the closure dates, and interlibrary loan, document delivery, and SRLF paging requests will not be processed until January 4.

Oberlin Faculty Pass Open-Access Resolution

The faculty at Oberlin College have passed a resolution to create an open-access depository.  Passed by a unanimous vote, the resolution gives the college permission to deposit the text of articles written by faculty members for peer-reviewed journals in Oberlin’s institutional repository.  Further information is available in the Oberlin press release.

Dec. 10 Faculty Workshop on Complying with the NIH Public Access Policy

The UCLA Library will present “Complying with the NIH Public Access Policy,” a workshop for UCLA faculty, researchers, and administrators, on Thursday, December 10, at 10 a.m. Find out what the policy means for NIH-funded researchers and how UCLA librarians can help you comply.

Admission is free, but space is limited, and advance registration by December 7 is required.
