Waltz through history, beginning with Regency period dances of Jane Austen’s time and continuing to the present day. Music will include compositions by Mozart as well as ragtime, French, American, and modern works. All UCLA students, faculty, and staff as well as the general public are welcome; no dance experience is necessary, and there will be instruction throughout the evening. Attire can be costume, formal or semi-formal. Admission is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required. Learn English waltzes and set dances from the period 1790-1820 with special guest teacher John Hertz, choreographer for the Friends of English Regency. No dance experience is necessary as there will be instruction throughout the evening; attire can be costume, formal, or semi-formal.
