This just in from East View:

We would like to inform you about a scheduled service upgrade of the CNKI platform, to version KNS5.2. This release will include several new improvements, many of which were specifically requested by users.

To accommodate the upgrade, the English-language interface of CNKI will be temporarily unavailable from Dec. 24, 2007 - January 1, 2008.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause. The Chinese interface, however, will be available without interruption throughout, and is also accessed via the URL http://china.eastview.com.

All instances of the “mail” button on the “Request Confirmation” screen are currently functioning.

Subject: CDLAlert: Request Confirmation email button not working

The “mail” button on the Request confirmation page is currently not functioning. When attempting to send a copy of the Request through this button, the message “Email Fails” appears.

This issue does not affect the flow of requests to the campus ILL department; all requests that reach the “Request Confirmation” screen will be sent to the campus ILL department.

The Request team is currently investigating this issue; please stay tuned for further updates as they become available.

Library Web Services would like to chat with library staff and end users in-person. We would like to understand your experience with the Library Web site and listen to your suggestions for new or improved web services. 

On every Thursday, starting in December 2007, LWS will host its open house hour from 3 p.m. -4:30 p.m. All staff and users are welcome to drop by.
