Artists’ Books from Library and Classroom

Fiat Lux artist book

This past quarter, undergraduate students in UCLA Arts librarian Robert Gore’s Fiat Lux seminar, Artists’ Books in the UCLA Library and Beyond, made and presented their own books as class projects. Several of these unique creations are on display in two exhibit cases in the Biomedical Library lobby, alongside published examples collected by History & Special Collections for the Sciences. From “double happiness” to “words to live by” and various topics in between, the students and other artists comment through unusual combinations of content, structures, and images.
