Library In-Service Session: TOXNET

toxnet.jpgThe Biomedical Library would like to invite you to an in-service session presented by Amy Chatfield about TOXNET. The same session will be offered in the Biomed Library classroom on two different dates and times: Tuesday 1/22, 2-3pm and Thursday 1/24, 10-11am. Because this will be a hands-on session, please RSVP to biomed-ref@library.ucla.edu by 1/18 (indicate which session you will attend)… however, walk-ins are still welcome.

TOXNET is a cluster of databases covering toxicology, hazardous chemicals, environmental health, and related areas.  Areas of interest include: TOXMAP, a website that uses maps of the USA to show the amount and location of toxic chemicals released into the environment; and, TOXLINE, a database providing comprehensive coverage of the biochemical, pharmacological, physiological, and toxicological effects of drugs and other chemicals from 1965-present.  You will have the opportunity to explore these databases as you learn about them!
